Reasons To Join

Why be a member of the
Triangle Freethought Society?

1. Access to TFS events
TFS holds some public events open to all. But some meetings and social events will be private, for members only.
2. Have a voice in TFS plans and actions
Our Constitution and Bylaws gives members the opportunity to work on committees, run for office, and vote on important decisions as part of a non-profit, tax exempt educational organization.
3. Lead and serve on committees
This is a great place for you to make a difference in your community and the world. TFS committee members work on Publicity, Program Planning, Education, Fundraising, Web site, etc. Join us to experience the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile with a team of like-minded individuals.
4. Support & connect with the Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF)
Our parent organization is active and effective in fighting for the separation of church and state. It's great to be a part of that, and to have a direct pipeline to the FFRF leadership that enables us to both stay more informed, and to inform others of our activities.
5. Members --> community
With our frenetic and demanding lifestyles, we need more than ever to build a sense of community. We want to support each other when times are tough, to help others less fortunate, and build traditions that help us all feel at home.
6. We DO good stuff!
We want to do more than just talk about the trials and tribulations of being a non-believer. We want to stand up, be counted, and be a force for change! We can also participate in community support activities like Food Bank drives, and the Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).

With your support, we will make our plans which are your plans a reality this year:

  • Rallies and protests
  • Charity actions, e.g. the Relay for Life
  • Highway billboards
  • Fun stuff, such as Happy Heathen Hour and the Anti-Superstition Ball
  • Online TFS store for T-shirts and other goods
  • Solstice display in December
  • Legislative work
  • Keeping religion out of public schools
  • Coalition efforts
  • An informative web site
  • FFRF Regional Conference here in a year or two!
  • Other stuff that YOU can help us think up and plan! So join, and get involved!
